Abstract:

To provide a surface coated cemented carbide tool with little interlayer separation, little pitching and excellent wearing resistance by aiming at a vertically long growth crystal structure and a crystal grain size of a TiCN film.

A first layer coming into contact with a base unit is formed by any one kind or more of carbide nitride and nitride of Ti, a second layer is formed of TiCN layer, a third layer on and after is constituted of many layers composed of hard film, in this surface coating cemented carbide tool comprising 9 to 23μm total film thickness thereof, the second layer of TiCN layer is formed in a film thickness of 60% or more relating to a total film thickness, a mean grain size in a horizontal direction of a grain of the second layer is 0.3 to 1.2μm, a mean grain size in a vertical direction is set to 2.5 times or more the means grain size in the horizontal direction.
