Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an electric connector such as a D sub-connector having an improved new terminal construction. CONSTITUTION: The female terminals 16, 20 made of a thin sheet metal material are mounted in an interior of a passage, respectively. The female terminals 16, 20 comprise tail parts 16, 20a on one ends, and the contact parts 16b, 20b on the other ends respectively. The contact parts are mounted in the interior of a passage, and the far ends 16c, 20c of the tail parts are matched to a board mounting face 28 of a housing, for the surface connection with a circuit of a printed board. The contact parts 16b, 20b of the female terminals 16, 20 are blanked from the thin sheet metall material, and form a pair of almost flat contact arms 16d, 20d opposite to each other. Each arm comprises a contact face almost rectangular to the face of the thin metal sheet material. The female terminal is formed such that the faces of the pair of almost flat contact arms opposite to each other are almost in parallel with a longitudinal shaft of the housing.
