To provide a surface treatment device, capable of measuring the number of times of rotation of a work.
The work 2 and magnetic abrasive grains are housed in a housing tank. An electromagnetic coil generates a rotating field in the housing tank to move the magnetic abrasive grains, so that the magnetic abrasive grains collide with the work 2 by the rotating field. A cylindrical member 61 holds the work 2 to enable rotation of the subject item 2 around an axial center. In the cylindrical member 61, a cut part 611 is provided at a position facing the work 2. A coil 101 is disposed at a position facing the work 2 through the cut part 611. A recess is provided in a surface of the work 2 where the cut part 611 passes as the work 2 rotates. An AC power source 15 sends AC current to the coil 101. A voltage measuring part 16 measures voltage between both ends of the coil 101. An operating device detects the number of times of rotation of the work 2 based on the voltage between both ends of the coil 101.
