Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce resonance below spring without requiring an independent mass by communicating a gas spring fixed below the spring through a resilient member with a liquid chamber of a liquid cylinder through a flexible pipe. CONSTITUTION:A suspension 1 comprises a hydraulic shock absorber 2, where the cylinder 3 of the hydraulic shock absorber 2 is fixed to wheel side(below spring) and a piston rod 4 is fixed to the body (above spring). A gas spring 11 is connected through a rubber tube 15 with the lower chamber 7 of the cylinder 3, and through a leaf spring with the cylinder 3. By such arrangement, the gas spring 11 functions as a volume compensation chamber for the cylinder 3 and as a spring for the suspension 1. The gas spring 11 and the leaf spring 17 function respectively as a mass and a spring for resonance below spring so as to constitute a dynamic damper D. By such arrangement, size of the suspension can be reduced thus reducing resonance below the spring.
