To improve the ease of assembly of a swash plate type pump to remarkably improve the operating efficiency, and eliminate the backlash between components of the pump.
A vave plate 31 and a cylinder block 15 are inserted into the first housing part 1a in sequence, and the second housing part 1b is installed on the outer periphery of the cylinder block to be locked to the first housing. Then, an energizing member 29, a supporting member 24, a shoe holder 27 are sequentially inserted into the second housing part, and plural pistons 21, on one end of each of which a shoe 25 is pivoted, are passed through engaging holes 27a of the shoe holder, and inserted into a cylinder 13 of the cylinder block. A swash plate 23 is inserted into the second housing part for its one side face to abut on the shoes, and further for its outer peripheral part to abut against the end face of the supporting member. Furthermore, the third housing part 1c supporting a rotary shaft 3 is assembled to the second housing part in sequence, and a bracket 8 containing an input shaft 11 and a magnetic coupling is assembled to the third housing part.
