To enhance wear resistance of sliding surfaces among members rotated at a high speed and under high pressure in a swash plate type pump by plating with nickel-phosphorus-tetrafluoroethylene resin at least one of a plurality of sliding members sliding with each other.
In a swash plate type pump, when it is operated, mating metallic members are slid with each other in their relative rotation between the bottom part of a cylinder block 15 and a valve plate 31, between a shoe 25 and a shoe holder 27, and between the shoe 25 and a swash plate 23. In this case, working oil staying in the bottom of a box body is drawn up through the rotation of the cylinder block 15 and supplied to each sliding part in order to lubricate them. In this case, surface treatment that is plating of nickel-phosphorus- tetrafluoroethylene resin is applied to at least one of the sliding members, which slide with each other, during the operation of the pump, (between the valve plate 31 and the cylinder block 15 and between the shoe 25 and the swash plate 23). With this, sliding friction in the sliding part can be reduced, thereby avoiding the lowering of durability.
