PURPOSE: To surely conduct the pressing operation on a bar steel and the synchronizing operation on multiple bar steels by one manipulation as well, by arranging a pressure bar for pressing the surface of a bar steel at right angles in the flying direction of bar steels.

CONSTITUTION: A vertically movable cylinder 10 is put into operation when twin bar steels 1a, 1b transferred by a loller table 2 come to a predetermined cutting position and a riding beam 9 is lowered along guide poles 5, 6 bring the lower end of the beam 9 into contact with both upper surfaces of bar steels 1a, 1b and press them. The riding beam 9 is parallely lowered to evenly press both bar steels. With the aid of the friction force caused between the beam 9 and the bar steels 1a, 1b, the shear moves synchrnously with the flying speed of bar steels and shears off bar steels while transferring a shearing torch 15 by a horizontally traveling frame 14. In case that casting is stopped for one 1b of bar steels by some reason, the rightest end of the beam 9 is lowered by a jaw 8 and the leftest end is loaded above the other bar steel 1a, and therefore, there is no problem for keeping synchronized movement of the shear.
