Abstract:

To provide an activity factor determining method of excellent precision, when determining a necessary switching electric power quantity related to a signal for VLSI circuit design.

An activity factor is allocated to one or plurality of node type(s). One or a plurality of signal network(s) is read out from a network list 118 of the circuit design 116, and one of the node types is correlated with each of the signal networks. The respective activity factors of the signal networks A-F are determined based on the node type.
