To provide a system in which a floor area over a plurality of floors and an area to which a building area is added or an open ceiling area are automatically added/subtracted and the building area and total floor area can be calculated without separately considering the numerical data of columns.
In the CAD system for automatically calculating the building area and the total floor area, the area to be calculated is designated by a rectangle input means and on the basis of an area value which is obtained by calculating the floor area of a room for each of floors while considering the half value of a numerical column width value, an addition area and a subtraction area are respectively added and subtracted so that the building area and the total floor area can be calculated.
