Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for specifying management objects, by which a monitor unit can cancel differences among management objects and recognize as through the management objects are managed by one unit to be monitored, even when the management objects managed by units to be monitored are different among the units to be monitored.
SOLUTION: The monitor unit 1 has an inclusive information template 15, that includes information of a configuration tree for a unit used by each unit 2 to be monitored, a physical information template 16 including information provided with a unique even identifier, having a logical meaning in common to each unit corresponding to a name of a object component being a monitor object among components managed by the inclusive information template 15 and a system management database 14, including information provided with the event identifier corresponding to the name of the object component by each identifier name of the units to be monitored. Furthermore, the monitor unit 1, when receiving event information from any of the units 2 to be monitored, retrieves whether the name of the object component attached to the event information and the event identifier corresponding to the name of the object component are in existence, by using the system management database 14 and detects the event identifier corresponding to the object component not in existence from the physical information template 16, when the object component is not in existence.
