PURPOSE: To prevent intrusion of foreign matter into a cam groove, to secure the smooth opening/closing operation of lids and also to improve looking of the appearance reducing the unevenness o# the outer surface of a cassette casing by providing the cam groove on the inner surface of the cassette casing and engaging a guide pin movably with this cam groove.
CONSTITUTION: The lid 16 is provided with a front lid 17 for covering the front surface of an information recording tape while being freely turnably supported by the cassette casing 13 and a top lid 18 for covering the upper surface of the information recording tape while being connected to this front lid 17 so as freely to rock. The guide pin 27 is provided on the top lid 18 and engaged with the cam groove 28 which is arranged on the inner surface of the cassette casing 13, to guide the movement of the top lid 18. By this arrangement, the intrusion of foreign matters such as dust, sand, etc., into the cam groove 28 is prevented, thereby, the lid 16 is smoothly opened/closed, and also the uneven part of the cam groove 28 is provided inside the cassette casing 13 to make the outer surface of the cassette casing to the smooth flat surface, then the looking of the appearance are improved.
