PURPOSE: To precisely control the tension in the case of imparting bending and to correct a carrier tape with high precision by equipping both a correction roller which guides the carrier tape while causing the stress in the direction reverse to that of the residual stress and a holding roller which pinches the carrier tape between the correction roller and the holding roller and pressure- welds or holds the carrier tape.

CONSTITUTION: A correction roller 18 is arranged in the nearly intermediate part of a feed side reel 12 and a feed roller 17 in the traveling route of a carrier tape 15. This carrier tape 15 is wound on about half of the outer circumferential part of the correction roller, pressure-welded and bent in a semicircular shape. The holding rollers 20, 21 are freely rotated to the direction correspondent to the traveling direction of the carrier tape 15. The carrier tape 15 is pushed by the holding rollers 20, 21 and held. The adhesive state of the outer circumfer ential part and the carrier tape 15 is secured. The correction roller 18 imparts bending force to the carrier tape 15 and stress in the direction reverse for the direction wherein residual stress causing a warpage is exerted is caused in the carrier tape 15. Thereby the warpage of the carrier tape 15 is removed.
