Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a target position measuring device which can obtain the latitude and longitude of a target and further determine the advancing direction of the target even if the target is a ship or a traveling body on land or a flight body at areas near those above sea or on land.

CONSTITUTION: An angle measurement part 13 directs a laser range-finding part 12 toward a target. The laser range-finding part 12 transmits laser pulses toward the target and receives the laser pulses reflected by the target, thus obtaining a distance R to the target. The angle measurement part 13 transmits a depression/elevation angle ψ in the target direction and a horizontal angle θfrom magnetic north to a controller 15 and then the laser range-finding part 12 transmits the distance R to the target to the controller 15. A GPS 14 transmits its own latitude m1 and a latitude l1 to the controller 15. The controller 15 obtains the latitude and longitude where the target exists using R, θ, ψ, m1 and l1.
