Abstract:

To provide a target for an X-ray tube and its method of manufacture in which deterioration of adhering strength or structural strength even under high temperature use condition of over 1,600°C, and manufacturing can be carried out at low cost.

The target for the X-ray tube 1 is Mo alloy base material 2 and graphite material 3 integrally bonded through a bonding layer 4. In the target for the X-ray tube 1, the bonding layer 4 consists of a carbide layer 5 of Ti and an alloy layer 8 containing Nb and Mo. Furthermore, it is preferable that the thickness of the bonding layer 4 is 0.2 to 1mm.
