To provide a telephone set equipped with a function for preventing an erroneous telephone call.

Telephone numbers of a user's own parents, brothers, friends and acquaintances are registered and stored. When a switch is turned on and this erroneous telephone call preventing function is operated, the telephone number of a call originating party is collated and it is judged whether that telephone number is registered or not. In the case of a call from a party with a registered telephone number, a ring back tone is generated, but in the case of a telephone call from a party whose telephone number is not registered, general recording is performed without sounding ring back tones.
