PURPOSE: To protect the terminal of an optical cable and to facilitate its connection work, by covering an optical fiber end part pulled out from a separation end part of the optical cable body separated from a suspending wire body on the terminal side with a protection coating.
CONSTITUTION: Optical fiber end parts 5' pulled out from a separation end part 1' of an optical cable body 1 are so cut that they are different in length from one another, and connectors 9 are attached to their tips. A cylindrical flexible protection coating 10 covering these end parts 5' and a separation end part 2' of a suspending wire body 2 are bound through binding members 11. In this case, the separation end part 2' is made longer than the separation end part 1' of the optical cable body. Consequently, the cable terminal is protected by the protection coating 10 in case of carrying; and in the field of laying, the cable connection work is performed easily and quickly without confusion of end parts 5' because end parts 5' are different in length from one another when the protection coating 10 is removed.
