Title:
THERMAL DESORPTION SAMPLE-TUBE AND ITS SAMPLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3885847
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation or breakage of a thermal desorption sample tube when the tube is connected by reducing the dead volume of the tube with a simple constitution and, at the same time, increasing the strength of the junction by forming a smaller inner diameter section by a prescribed length on the downstream side of the sample heating and expelling section of the tube in the moving direction of samples.
SOLUTION: A thermal desorption tube 11 is composed of a sample heating and expelling section 11a which is heated by means of a heat block and non-heating sections 11b and 11c and a smaller inner diameter section 12a is formed throughout the downstream non-heating section 11b. On the other hand, a sealing material 21 having low absorptivity against components to be measured and air permeability is arranged at both ends of a through hole 12 and the space between the sealing material 21 is filled up with a bulky collection-material 22. The inside diameter of the section 12a is made as small as possible within the extent in which a capillary tube can be inserted into the section 12a in a non-contacting state and adjusted to about 1/3 of that of the through hole 12 and the length of the section 12a is made nearly equal to that of the non-heating section 11b. Since the wall thickness of the section 12a becomes thicker than that of the other part, the strength of the section 12a is increased accordingly. Since the tube 11 has a small surface area, in addition, the sample adsorbing amount of the tube 11 becomes smaller accordingly.
