PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior thermal insulating container in which heat of items stored in the container is hardly transferred to the container whatever locations at the barrel part of the container may be held by a hand of a user.
SOLUTION: This container is comprised of a paper cup main body 2 having an outward curled section 6 at its upper opening edge and a paper outer cylinder 3 opened at its upper section and lower section and having an inward curled section 8 at its lower opening edge. The upper opening edge is folded back inward at the upper section of the outer cylinder 3 to form a folded-back section 9, wherein the outer cylinder 3 is applied to cover the paper cup main body 2, the inner side surface near the lower section of the folded-back section of the outer cylinder 3 is adhered to the outer circumferential surface of the side wall near the upper section of the barrel section of the paper cup main body 2 so as to form a clearance 11 between the paper cup main body 2 and the outer cylinder 3. Since the thermal insulating clearance 11 is formed at a certain degree of clearance over a wide range ranging from the lower section to the upper section of the barrel, it is possible to prevent heat of the stored contents from being transmitted whatever locations of the barrel section may be held by a hand of a user.
