To prevent generation of abnormal noises caused by slippage of a thermal insulation sleeve in a fixing device with the thermal insulation sleeve interposed between a heating roller shaft and a bearing and to prevent twist of the thermal insulation sleeve.
A recessed portion 23 of a rectangular shape is formed circumferentially in the shaft 13 of a heat roller 14. The thermal heat insulation sleeve 32 is formed with a slit 34 axially divided and with engagement recessed portions 36, 37 to be engaged with the recessed portion 23 on circumferentially opposite sides of the slit 34. A protruded portion 28 to be engaged with a recessed portion 25 of the shaft 13 is formed in an opposite portion to the slit 34. When the thermal heat insulation sleeve 32 is installed to the shaft 13, it is fitted on the shaft 13 with the slit 34 expanded, the engagement protruded portions 36, 37 are engaged with the recessed portion 23, and the protruded portion 28 is engaged with the concave portion 25. This prevents slippage between the thermal heat insulation sleeve 32 and the shaft 13 and prevents twist of the thermal heat insulation sleeve 32 caused by the slit 34.
