Title:
THERMALLY BONDABLE MATERIAL CONTAINING POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE AND PREPARATION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02248484
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare a thermally bondable material which can be bonded by heating at a high temp. to thereby facilitate bonding to a heat-resistant material by dispersing a polytetrafluoroethylene polymer in a specific matrix material.

CONSTITUTION: A matrix material comprising an aq. polyelectrolyte soln. or viscose is mixed with an aq. dispersion of a polytetrafluoroethylene polymer (at least 90mol% of the polymer being made up of tetrafluoroethylene) having a particle size of 0.005-1μm and obtd. by dispersing 20-70%, pref. 60%, said polymer in an ion-exchanged water. The resulting mixture is extruded into a coagulating bath to give a coagulated product, which is deacidified and, if necessary, immersed in an alkaline water. Thus, a thermally bondable material comprising said polytetrafluoroethylene polymer dispersed in the coagulated matrix material is obtd.
