Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thin film magnetic head capable of especially coping with a tendency toward a narrow track, also capable of effectively preventing a write fringing and moreover, capable of effectively relaxing the saturation of magnetic flux.
SOLUTION: A groove part 11a, which is composed of the track width area A consisting of a track width Tw and the inclined area B having slopes 11c so that the width dimension is gradually widened from the track width area A to the surface 11b of an insulating layer 11, is formed in the insulating layer 11, and an upper core layer 16 is formed upward from the slopes 11c. Whereby, the thin film magnetic head capable of relaxing the saturation of magnetic flux and capable of simultaneously controlling the generation of write fringing is manufactured.
