Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thioredoxin-inducing substance capable of inducing thioredoxin. SOLUTION: The thioredoxin-inducing substance can induce thioredoxin in at least one kind of tissue selected from upper respiratory mucosa, liver, stomach, blood vessel, lymph and nerve, especially preferably the compound expressed by general formula (I): H[CH2-C(CH3)=CH-CH2]n-R1...(I) [R1 is OH, a (CH2)-acyl or a hydroxyalkyl; and (n) is an integer of 2-6]. The acyl group is a 1-18C acyl such as formyl, acetyl, propionyl, butyryl, valeryl, isovaleryl, pivaloyl, lauroyl, myristoyl, palmitoyl, stearoyl, oleoyl and benzoyl.
