Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the reliability of an abnormality judgment by providing a position sensor constituted of two sensors detecting the position of the same object, changing the outputs of two sensors in opposite directions to each other, and judging the abnormality of the position sensor based on the compared results between the change quantities of the outputs of the sensors and threshold values.
SOLUTION: A dual-system accelerator position sensor 10 is constituted of a main sensor 11 and a sub-sensor 12 outputting detection signals VPA1, VPA2 indicating the accelerator positions changed in opposite directions to each other according to the depressed quantity of an accelerator pedal 2. An ECU 60 receiving the output signals of both sensors 11, 12 calculates the target opening of a throttle valve 30. When the ECU60 judges that the change quantities ΔVPA1 of the output voltages VPA1, VPA2 are the corresponding threshold values ΔTH1, ΔTH2 or above, it judges the accelerator position sensor 10 as abnormal, then it stops a motor 40, interrupts an electromagnetic clutch 50, and stops throttle control for a fail-safe process.
