To provide a timepiece component capable of enhancing jumpingly abrasion resistance and lubricity in a frictional sliding part and a switching part to use a timepiece for long period without oiling.
Upper and lower tenon portion are received by a wheel train and a cap jewel 50 assembled in a main plate 2, in the third wheel pinion 7 of an electronic control type mechanical timepiece. The third wheel pinion 7 includes the third pinion 71, and the lower tenon 72 provided in a lower position of the third wheel pinion 7. The cap jewel 50 is constituted of a ruby or the like with a mortise 51 formed in its central part. Surfaces of the third pinion 71 and the lower tenon 72 are coated with composite platings 73. The composite plating 73 includes a nickel plating 74 coated by electric plating treatment, and a carbon nano-tube layer 75 formed non-orientedly on the nickel plating 74, using a dispersant such as polyacrylic acid. The third pinion 71, the lower tenon 72 and the mortise 51 are slid thereby via the carbon nanotube layer 75.
