Abstract:
In a tire transport apparatus (1), three arms (23) each have a hook (25) protruding outward at a lower end section. An arm extension/retraction device (77) moves the arms (23) in a horizontal extension/retraction direction. A Z-axis drive device (75) raises and lowers the arms (23). First to third laser distance sensors (3 1Ato 31C) are disposed on the outer side of a first circle (C1) including the distal ends of the hooks (25) when the arms (23) are above a tire (T) and in a retracted state, so as to detect an object below. If at least one of the laser distance sensors (31A to 31C) detects the tire (T), a controller (51) determines that the arms (23) are in an inappropriate position.
