To provide a tire tread which is suitable for a tire for a vehicle which is desired to travel at relatively high speeds, in which tread traction (e.g., skid resistance) is most important and resistance to tread wear is of lesser importance, concerning a tire with a tread of a rubber composition containing carboxylated styrene/butadiene rubber.
The rubber composition comprises, based on 100 pts.wt (phr) of rubber: (A) 100 phr of conjugated diene-containing elastomers comprising (1) from 10 to 65 phr of carboxylated styrene/butadiene rubber (x-SBR), and (2) 35 to 90 phr of at least one additional elastomer comprising at least one of solution polymerization prepared styrene/butadiene rubber (S-SBR) and emulsion polymerization prepared styrene/butadiene rubber (E-SBR); and (B) 50 to 150 phr of a particulate reinforcing filler comprising rubber-reinforcing carbon black.
