PURPOSE: To install steel pipes by lessening frictional resistance in pushing up them by a method in which a jack-up device is set in an operation room provided on the lower end of a skew shaft, and tapered single pipes whose upper end diameter is larger than its lower end are orderly connected and pushed up.
CONSTITUTION: An operating room 10 with a jack-up device 21 is set on the lower end of a skew shaft 1, and tapered pipes 14 whose upper end diameter is larger than its lower end are carried in a lower drift 11. The tapered pipes 14 are pushed up by the jack-up device 21, and a single pipe 41 is contacted with the lower part of the pipes 14 and connected by welding. While pushing up them orderly, the following single pipes are connected to the preceding single pipe 41. Concrete is placed into the space between the tapered pipes 14 and the inner wall of the skew shaft 1, and cement mortar is packed into the space 16 formed by the large-diameter portion of the tapered pipe 14 after installing the steel pipes from a nozzle 39. The presence of the space 16 makes frictional resistance smaller in pushing up the pipes.
