PURPOSE: To save labor for manufacturing a stuffed article by automating preparatory and squeezing operation for a side cloth.
CONSTITUTION: A stuffed article-manufacturing apparatus is composed of a side cloth transferring unit B consisting of a transfer bar 3 mounting the side cloth and transferring chains 5, 5 for transferring the side cloth mounted to the transfer bar 3 to a side cloth shifting position, a side cloth shifting unit C for pinching the upper and lower cloth of the transferred side cloth from above and below to shift the lower cloth, clamping and lifting a remaining upper cloth, claw units D, D for inserting a claw part in an opening between the upper and lower cloths to strain both cloth left and right and place the side cloth adjacent to a socker 24 and a socket unit F consisting of a side cloth squeezing unit for squeezing the side cloth into the socket 24 and two sets of sockets 24, 24 respectively fixed to brackets 38, 38 slidable back and forth and moved alternately between the side cloth squeezing position and fiber web inserting position by 180° reversal.
