Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently exhibit performance of a battery while securing the source voltage for control circuit or a sensor by providing a control means holding the output torque of a motor-driven assistant driving device to be under the reference value, when the output voltage of a battery becomes lower than a changeover reference value. SOLUTION: Because an assistant driving device provided with a nickel- cadmium charged battery is controlled so as to output the same force as the pedal torque of a driver by a microcomputer, the current waveform of a charging type battery becomes similar waveform to the pedal torque. As the battery current becomes large, the rate of the battery voltage drop becomes large. When a sensor and the like driven at +12 V is used, the pedal torque at the output voltage being at +13 V is set to be the maximum allowable torque Th, and thereafter torque over Th is computed as Th. Hereby, the battery current is limited with Ih, voltage drop is also limited with +13 V, hence the charging type battery capacity can be used to the last, and a running distance can be extended.
