Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce quinacridone pigment having improved dispersibility, dispersion stability, etc., by bringing crude quinacridone into contact with a mixed soln. consisting of a specified alcohol, a surfactant and water under heating.
CONSTITUTION: Crude quinacridone powder is dispersed in an aq. alcoholic soln. contg. 10W90% (vol/vol) 3W10C alcohol such as amyl alcohol or hexyl alcohol, and not more than 5% (wt/vol.) surfactant such as cationic surfactant (e.g. alkyltrimethylammonium chloride) or nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene alkylphenol ether). The mixture is stirred at 50°C for 1W3hr to bring the powder into contact with the soln.
