Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title copolymer useful as an animal cell adhesion inhibitor, a substrate for cell culture or the like by copolymerizing a propenamide derivative with a cationic monomer to introduce a tripeptide of Arg-Gly-Asp into the copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A propenamide derivative having an adhesive peptide of formula II (wherein X and Y are each a residue of an amino acid selected from among Ser, Gly, Val, Asn and Pr or a peptide residue; Z is -O- or -NH-; one of R<4> and R<5> is H and the other is 1-11C linear or branched alkylene or the like, and may be substituted; and n is 1-5) as an essential unit at the side chain of formula I [wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H or COOH; R<3> is H, (carboxy) methyl, ethyl or halogen] is copolymerized with a cationic monomer of formula III [wherein R<6> is H, (substituted) 1-3C alkyl; W is Z; R<7> is H, 1-12C linear or branched alkyl or the like which may be substituted with amino, imino, etc., and may further contain a substituent].
