Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to enhance the rate of grinding with less kinetic energy, by stacking ultrahard polishing grindstones on a shaft in a rotor-like shape, and by attaching them horizontally in a rotary drum having a hollow section in which blades are radially arranged. CONSTITUTION:Grindstones 1 made of ultrahard abrasive are stacked on a shaft 2 in a rotor-like shape and fastened by balance regulating plates 3 at both ends thereof, are horizontally attached in a rotary drum 5 disposed therein with radial blades, and are disposed in casing 6 which is formed in its lateral surface with an air suction port 7 and a granular material introducing port 8 and which is integrally incorporated with a separating tower 11 having an air discharge port 10 directed to a dust collector in its upper section. Further, due to the rotation of a prime mover 12 the polishing surface 13 of a polishing body 4 is in a file-like surface condition, and therefore, a granular material introduced in association with the rotation of the rotary drum 5 is scraped up while it is stirred, and is therefore efficiently ground. Then, the material is taken out from an outlet port 15. thus, no wind blows since the polishing body is shaped in a rotor-like shape, and therefore, the consumption of kinetic energy may be reduced, and further it is possible to enhance the grinding effect of the outer surface of a granular material.
