PURPOSE: To make available to control a combustion and a melting quantity, while simultaneously preventing an incinerator from a blocking trouble which would otherwise be caused by bridging, by providing a moving layer transferring means adapted to vary the moving speed of incineration slag's moving layer.
CONSTITUTION: An incineration slag N containing unburned carbons is stacked upon a grate 15 inside a melting furnace 11, and such slag stacked falls downwardly toward the inclining direction as a moving layer 10, while being pushed by means of moving layer pushing member 32 of moving layer transferring means 31. The proximal end of pushing member 32 is connected via a pin joint with the piston rod 35 of piston mechanism 33, so that the pushing member 32 may be moved to and out of the furnace 11. The piston mechanism 33 is constructed such that its operable distance., i.e., the stroke, operating interval and operating speed of piston rod 35 may be varied arbitrarily, and thereby controlling the moving quantity of moving layer.
