PURPOSE: To provide an expanded rubber compsn. in which uniform and fine expansion, good specific gravity and tensile characteristics are well balanced, by blending a thermoplastic hollow resin incorporating a blowing agent therein with an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer rubber.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic hollow resin incorporating a blowing agent therein is blended with an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer rubber. Examples of said copolymer rubbers are an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer and an ethylene/α-olefin/ non-conjugated or conjugated diene copolymer. As the α-olefin, propylene is preferred. Examples of the thermoplastic hollow resins incorporating a blowing agent therein are thermoplastic resins incorporating a volatile hydrocarbon, pref. isobutane as the blowing agent therein. An example of the thermoplastic resin is a vinylidene chloride/acrylonitrile copolymer. The average particle size thereof is pref. 5W20μ.
