Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a self-extinguishing type semiconductor element by detecting the variation in the voltage of a gate power source and limiting the output current of a power converter. CONSTITUTION:The output current of an inverter 15 is controlled in a closed loop by a current controller 17-4 and a current detector 17-5, and the output of a voltage controller 17-2 becomes the reference signal of an output current. The variation in the voltage of a gate power source in a gate controller 17-8 is directly detected by a voltage detector 22-1, and the output value of a voltage detector 17-2 is limited to the prescribed value by a limiter 22-2. Thus, the output signal of the controller 17-2 as the reference signal of the output current of the inverter 15 can be limited to the prescribed value, and the current flowed to a self-extinguishing semiconductor element used in the inverter 15 can be limited to the prescribed value or lower.
