PURPOSE: To regenerate the power of a catalyst with the small amount of washing water in a short time for activation, by spraying a high-pressure gas- liquid mixed phase stream onto the surface of the catalyst under the condition that a reactor device is packed with the catalyst, when the power of the catalyst laid in the reactor device is deteriorated.
CONSTITUTION: When the power of a catalyst 6 laid in a reactor device 5 is deteriorated, a high-pressure gas-liquid mixed phase stream is sprayed onto the surface of the catalyst through a washing water-supply line 1, an air-supply line 2, a steam-supply line 3 and spray nozzles 4 under the condition that the reactor device 5 is packed with the catalyst 6. Because of the gas-liquid mixed phase stream which is formed into small water drops, said spraying being uniform even to the interiors of pores inside the catalyst can be performed, and the amount of the washing liquid to be used can be saved. In addition, the liquid drops formed from the gas-liquid mixed phase stream are smaller than those from a liquid single phase one, so that impact power on the catalyst is not increased too much even when spraying pressure is considerably raised. Hence, fine liquid drops can be uniformly blown off far to a distance by sufficiently raising the spraying pressure, and a time for activation can be shortened.
