PURPOSE: To provide the titled rolling roll shortening the line stoppage without replacement of a roll by acting a high pressure fluid body on the annular close- fitting part of the sleeve of the horizontal roll that two sleeves are close-fitted to an arbor and by adjusting the sleeve gap with the condition of reducing the interference.

CONSTITUTION: More than one piece of an annular groove 6 is provided on the annular close-fitting part of each sleeve 3, 4 in a horizontal roll that at least two sleeves 3, 4 are close-fitted to an arbor 1 with interference, and with the operation of a high pressure fluid body 9 the interference is reduced. Each sleeve 3, 4 become slidable in axial direction and the gap is adjusted by the screw fitting mechanisms 13, 14 which is between sleeves 3, 4 or piston pressing mechanism, etc. With the removal of the pressure of the fluid body after adjustment the interference is restored again and a good close-fitting condition is made. The changing roll is not necessary accordingly and the rolling stoppage time due to the adjustment is shortened. It is preferable to make a coating layer 5 for seizure prevention on the surface of the arbor 1 for easier sliding and no pressure leakage.
