Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC SERVO-BRAKE FOR AUTOMOBILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59118559
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve an always optimal braking property, by providing an electromagnet, the quantity of electricity to be supplied to which is controlled depending on the depressing force on a brake pedal, and by using the electromagnetic force of the electromagnet to operate an assisting cylinder assembly to boost the depressing force.

CONSTITUTION: An electroconductive plate 2a is secured on the tip of an operating rod 2 coupled to a brake pedal 1. Another electroconductive plate 3a is secured on the end of the piston 3 of a braking master cylinder 4. A pressure- sensitive rubber sheet A is pinch-held between both the electroconductive plates 2a, 3a. An assisting cylinder assembly 7 is connected to a back pressure oil chamber 4b defined in the master cylinder 4 by the piston 3. A piston 7b in the cylinder assembly 7 is directly coupled to the magnetic member 8c of an electromagnetic means 8 and is urged rightward by a spring 7c to oppose the leftward motion of the magnetic member caused by the excitation of an electromagnetic coil 8b. The quantity of electricity to be supplied to the coil 8b is controlled depending on the change in the resistance of the pressure-sensitive rubber sheet A.
