PURPOSE: To peel and remove a remaining toner effectively while preventing the wear of the surface of a photosensitive body by moving the tip of a blade more backward to a feeding side and more increasing the degree of bend of the blade as force given to the blade is increased.
CONSTITUTION: Normally, a blade plate 4 and a photosensitive drum 1 are engaged with each other softly in a position P1, and pressing force or contacting force to the remaining toner acts upon the surface of the photosensitive drum in accordance with a moment around a fulcrum 7 and the degree of bend of an elastic blade 4, and the toner is peeled. If the toner is stuck fast to the surface of the drum, a large stress is generated at the tip 3 of the blade plate, and a holder 6 is turned in the direction of an arrow A in accordance with this stress to move backward the tip 3 up to a position P2 indicated by an alternate long and two short dashes line. In this case, since the fulcrum 7 is so provided that a circle (r) around the fulcrum 7 having a radius l crosses the outside circumference of the drum, the tip 3 is pressed or brought into contact with the drum strongly while bending for the length corresponding to the overlap part between the circle (r) and the outside circumference of the drum, thus peeling the remaining toner.
