Title:
TORQUE DETECTOR/CONTROLLER FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3213227
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a torque detector/controller for automatic transmission in which torque can be detected without requiring any dedicated torque sensor additionally and frictional engagement control can be performed optimally.
SOLUTION: A dual mass flywheel 26 comprises two types of torsion spring wherein the spring constant k1 of first spring 114 is set smaller than the spring constant k2 of second spring 116 so that the torque is transmitted with the spring constant k1 when the transmission torque T is within a predetermined range. Quantity of power being transmitted by a wheel 26 is determined by two kinds of constant k1, k2 depending on the value of torque T. When such a wheel 26 is employed, fluctuation of engine output torque is suppressed and propagation of vibration to the transmission is prevented thus preventing resonance of the drive system and generation of noise. Especially, in case of a variable speed drive, a clutch is arranged on the next stage of transmission mechanism and the engine is coupled directly therewith and thereby the necessity of dual mass flywheel is high.
