Abstract:

To obtain a track jump velocity control circuit that can realize high- speed and stable track jump without any overrunning.

A direction detection signal generating circuit 9 does not intermittently detect the velocity in the track jump through the counting of the number of track zero-cross pulses from the sub-beam but generates a direction detection signal that is deviated by 90 degrees in phase from the main push-pull signal from a main push-pull signal generating circuit 10. The main push-pull signal generating circuit 10 generates a main push-pull signal from the main beam. A velocity-detection circuit 17 detects continuously the moving velocity of lens from the direction detection signal and main push-pull signal. An adder 16 adds its velocity detection signal to an actuator drive signal.
