To suppress the occurrence of a sense of unnecessary acceleration or stall during traction control when using a combination of brake traction control and engine traction control with fuel-cut (F/C).
The traction control ECU (TRC-ECU) 2 computes braking torque TB currently generated by a hydraulic braking device 3, engine torque TE generated by an engine 6 and engine torque to be generated in F/C by a current amount less an equivalent of one cylinder. When the braking torque TB is greater than reduced torque (TE-TC) of the engine due to the F/C, a signal for requiring the F/C is output to an engine control ECU 1, and when the braking torque is smaller than the reduced torque and brake hydraulic pressure is a value of zero or nearly zero, a signal for canceling the F/C is output. Thus, the traction control can be moderated with cooperation between engine output and brake hydraulic pressure.
