PURPOSE: To change the transfer direction of packed goods by a simple device and also judge the existence of the break of the bag of the packed goods surely.

CONSTITUTION: Packed goods X supplied to a right angle lateral turning transfer device 2 is transfered while turning laterally by the gradual opening motion of the lateral turning guide 9 of this right angle lateral turning transfer device 2 and the rotation of a lateral turning roller 11 and changing the transfer direction to the right angle direction and the leakage Y leaked out of the packed goods X during this transfer is detected by a leakage sensor 16 and the exsistence of the break of the bag of this packed goods X is judged. Accordingly, by the lateral turning guide 9 and the lateral turning roller 11, the transfer direction at the packed goods X is changed and the existence of the break of the bag is judged by the leakage sensor 16. Thereby, the transfer direction change and the break judgement or the packing bag are carried out simply and simultaneously.
