PURPOSE: To surely operate a means to be controlled of a vehicle by discriminating whether road information should be given to the vehicle or not based on pattern information of a marker provided over the overall road width including a counter vehicle lane.
CONSTITUTION: A marker detector 11 always continues to detect a marker 7 while the vehicle runs; and when the marker detector 11 detects the marker 7, a pattern interpreting means of a control unit U interprets information of the marker 7 as a signal waveform. Then, the vehicle passing the marker 7 is decided as the pertinent vehicle. Based on this decision, a control execution signal is outputted to a deceleration control means, and the deceleration control means reads in road information from road information of the marker 7 to control an automatic brake controller 12 or the like. Since the marker 7 is provided over the overall width of a running road 1, the pertinent vehicle 2 certainly passes on the marker 7 in whatever manner the vehicle 2 runs on the running road 1, road information in the proceeding direction is detected to surely stop the vehicle at a stop line 8.
