To provide a transparent electrode substrate capable of enhancing the degree of freedom in material selection and productivity while having low resistance characteristics and corrosion resistance, and also to provide a photoelectric conversion element comprising the transparent electrode substrate.
In the transparent electrode substrate 1, a base layer 110 having a lattice-shaped groove 110a for forming a metal wiring layer 112 and a transparent substrate 111 are separately constituted. Since direct groove processing is not required to be applied to the transparent substrate, this allows the transparent substrate 111 to be formed with, for example, a material which is superior in material or optical characteristics but not excellent in workability. Moreover, as having translucency and shape imparting properties is sufficient enough for the base layer 110, the groove processing is made easier by particularly utilizing the material having high processability, and improvement in productivity is achieved. As a result, higher degree of freedom in selection of the material used for the transparent substrate 110, and the transparent electrode substrate which is superior even in productivity can be obtained.
