PURPOSE: To guide a driver without fail by providing a means to store the road map of a crossing, input means for codes and numbers attached to the respective crossings, means to retrieve the road map of the crossing and means to display the graphic of road map.

CONSTITUTION: This travel supporting device is equipped with the means to store the road map of the crossings in a route between a decided destination and a starting point, means to input codes, signals, names, signs, symbols and numbers or the like attached to the respective crossings, means to retrieve the road map of the crossing based on these input information and means to display the map. In such a case, when the information is inputted by the driver or automatically, the road map of the crossing or points, where the driver easily gets lost, is retrieved and displayed and the symbol such as an arrow or the like is shown on the map so as to instruct the route. Thus, the driver can be guided without fail.
