PURPOSE: To obtain a treating agent for hyperlipemia and reducing agent for lipid ingredient in blood, containing a 15-keto-prostaglandin(PG) compound as an active ingredient and capable or reducing concentrations of triglycerides, cholesterol and phospholipids.

CONSTITUTION: A treating agent for hyperlipemia and reducing agent for lipid ingredient in blood containing a 15-keto-PG compound, e.g. 16-mono- or dihalo-15-keto-PG, 13,14-dihydro-16-mono- or difluoro-15-keto-PG, 6,15-diketo-PG or 15-keto-16-desbutyl-16-phenoxy-PG as an active ingredient. The aforementioned drug is used by a method for systemic or local oral administration, intravenous injection (including intravenous drip), subcutaneous injection, intrarectal administration, etc., and sufficient effects are obtained by administering the agent in a dose of normally 0.001-500mg/kg in 2-4 divided portions a day or in a sustained form.
