To provide a treating agent which can prevent the reduction in operability by inhibiting the occurrence of fluff and tar and also inhibiting smoking even in the case when a synthetic fiber is subjected to heat treatment in severe high-temperature conditions, to provide a treating method using the treating agent, and to provide a synthetic fiber produced by the treating method.
The treating agent for a synthetic fiber is a compound comprising one or two or more selected from (1) a compound resulting from random interesterification by mixing two or more kinds of fats and oils and heating the mixture in the presence of an acidic compound and (2) a compound resulting from random interesterification by mixing fats and oils, an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and glycerin and heating the mixture in the presence of an acidic compound.
