To provide a method of treating calcium component and lead component which can be fractionally recovered, at a high lead recovery rate, from microdust containing both components (e.g., chlorine bypass dust).
This method comprises the following processes: (A) a process to obtain slurry by mixing microdust as a target treatment object with water, (B) a process to obtain solid matter containing an insoluble lead component and a liquid portion containing a water-soluble lead component by separating the slurry into a solid material and liquid portion, (C) a process to mix the liquid portion obtained in the process (B) with a surplus amount of sulfurizing agent, to thereby obtain a slurry and then to obtain solid matter containing the lead sulfide and a liquid portion containing the sulfurizing agent by solid-liquid separation, (D) a process to obtain a slurry containing the lead sulfide by mixing the solid matter obtained in the process (B) with the liquid portion obtained in the process (C) and subsequently produce calcium sulfate by adding sulfuric acid to the slurry and then, upgrade the hydrophobic properties of the lead sulfide by adding a collector, and next a process to obtain a floating mineral containing the lead sulfide and a settling mineral containing the calcium sulfate by treating the slurry by floatation.
