PURPOSE: To make equipment compact and to obtain treated waste water having good water quality by using a nitrification tank segmented to a plurality or plural nitrification tanks in the method for treatment of the residual nitrogen after removal of a part of the suspended solids, colloid and soluble materials in a waste liquid in the nitrification tank, denitrification tank and reaeration tank.
CONSTITUTION: The waste water 1 and a flocculating agent 2 are mixed and are brought into contact with each other to progress a flocculation reaction in a flocculation reaction device 3, by which the flocculation of the suspended solids and colloid in the waste water and the taking in of the partly soluble materials into the flocculates flocs are executed. The flocs 5 are removed by a flock separator 4. The waste water from which the flocs 5 are removed flows into the nitrification tank 6. Media 15 stuck with microorganisms for cleaning are built in all the biological reaction tanks after this nitrification tank 6, by which a device for separating solid from liquid for recovering the microorganisms for cleaning is omitted. A partition plate 14 is inserted into the nitrification tank 6, by which the nitrification tank is partitioned to both sides. Plural nitrification tanks are otherwise provided in multiple stages, by which the treatment is executed.
